Unusual culinary experience in a magical environment

Located in an extremely rustic setting, 5 km down the road from Paraty to Cunha, this bistro surprises us owing to its uncommon dishes and the cozy, well decorated atmosphere. As the name suggests, the cooking is masterfully exercised by chef Luciana Marinho, who innovates in the combination of ingredients and pleases the most demanding of gourmets.

Luciana reveres and respects nature, having been in this spot for 18 years. Only natural ingredients are employed in the activity, many of which grown on the land. The menu is hand-written and lists a variety of tempting and unique dishes that makes us feel privileged. More so, because the premises can hold twelve persons only, so that a reservation should be made. Credit cards are not accepted, as telephone communications are deficient.

Among the most ordered and sought after dishes, there is filet mignon with chocolate and mango braised in cachaça from Paraty with rose pepper, considered unbeatable. Other culinary delights, such as black velvet – shrimp and broccoli braised in cachaça, with black rice and cream of gorgonzola – are among the most ordered, followed by palm heart lasagna with broccoli in white sauce, in which thin slices of palm hearts replace the pasta.

The chef has even innovated in her desserts, serving green brigadeiro without chocolate but stuffed with mint and melissa, in addition to a personal version of guava preserve and cheese.

A number of options are available, including unusual salads, fondues and sweet and salt tapiocas (cassava starch pancakes). Luciana discloses in her blog the menu that she intends to serve, as well as the bistro’s opening hours.

The bistro’s atmosphere is even more special on cold evenings with the fireplace alight, making the moment perfect to enjoy a good wine and the magic of a candlelit environment with special cooking.
