Very well located in the Praça da Matriz, this beautiful town house is also known as Espaço Cultural do IPHAN and is a part of the Institution’s educational and heritage project. The latter converts its units and technical offices into reference centers, creating the Casas do Patrimônio, or heritage houses, intended to strengthen ties with the community, students, teachers and tourists, providing a number of free cultural activities.

The facilities have rooms for holding exhibitions and an auditorium that can hold an audience of 20, and where on Wednesdays at 7 pm excellent movies are shown gratuitously. Presentations, seminars and town events are also held here, as well as musical and theater performances.
