This native of Paraty and a visual artist – also enraptured by decoration – wished to do something different as a ceramist and put together creativity, talent and good taste to inaugurate her charming studio five years ago, where she exhibits her exclusive creations that attract and captivate everybody.

These are usually light fixtures, wall brackets and table lamps, with their shades lined with incredible fabrics, usually imported and especially selected by her. The lampshades are sold separately in different sizes and shapes, and it is difficult to choose one amidst so many charming models that would liven up any environment.

The key differential is that Cida also produces uncommon pedestals in clay or wood to compose a table lamp, resulting in a unique item, a sculpture lamp ready to plug into the power outlet. It is an original and very utilitarian work of art.

Modeling in clay is an art that Cida always enjoyed as far back as her first lessons with her mentor, Dalcyr Ramiro. From then on, she perfected her technique by practicing, and by means of researching in books and other publications. The artist is totally familiar with this traditional skill, and in addition to light fixtures she also creates beautiful pots and sculptures, preferring to preserve the clay’s natural color, usually terracotta, white or bronze.

A visit to her studio is good for the eyes and an invitation to watch her at work or explain her work and techniques. She is always very affable and welcoming.
