This cozy corner was opened two years ago and has already earned a vocation as the ideal place to sit, hold a conversation and while away the time, enjoying the variety of quality coffees served together with home-made cooking.

The name chosen by owners Dorotea and Valquíria is a tribute to the Festa do Divino and to the town where they arrived to spend two months, thirteen years ago. The interior decoration includes pictures by Paraty artists. Quality music – at the right volume – encourages conversation. There are tables in the open air with carefully selected sentences such as “Fewer horns and more sounds from the sea”, an invitation to relax completely.

In a house of coffee tasters, coffee is the star. The types provided vary from organic, decaf, award-winning domestic varieties such as Orfeu de Minas and Jacu Bird Super Premium, deemed by specialists to be one of the best in Brazil. Coffee is ground on the spot and served as express or percolated before the customer’s eyes.

The menu includes options such a carioca or cana coffee, in addition to special drinks such as the recommended Afogatto with Cointreau liqueur and ice cream, always prepared with perfection and in harmony with the coffee. Perfect snack suggestions include cake, home-made biscuits, juices and sandwiches. The light meal menu at honest prices lists omelettes, pasta, pancakes, grilled choices and snacks. Everything is prepared on the spot – even the cheesecake dressing – with great care that makes a difference. Many customers have brought images of the Divino from the world over, giving rise to a beautiful collection that decorates the environment.

The affable hosts greet customers in Portuguese and English and make everybody at home, which has made this venue a pleasant meeting place for travelers and Paraty residents.
