In the market since 2013, Lima Bistro is an option that surprises us owing to its lack of sophistication and the quality of its food. One of the key differentials is the organic produce grown on the spot. This includes fruit, vegetables and greens, which add a touch of crispness to each recipe.

Luciana, the owner, is from Uruguay and came to Paraty for the first time while working. She fell in love with the town, and has lived here since 2011. Currently, she grows fruit such as star fruit, acerola cherries, limes and lemons, vegetables such as tomatoes and chayote, rocket, green and purple lettuce, chard and other greens that are much appreciated in salads. Seasoning and herbs such as rosemary, sage, parsley and chives, chicory, basil and chili peppers provide her dishes with a special flavor. The home-made pasta and fresh fish that are purchased directly from the caiçaras ensure quality and customer satisfaction.

The bruschettas are also home-made. Quiches, appetizers, pies and tidbits are ideal for quick snacks. Grilled meats, pastas, meat, seafood and risottos are listed in the lunch and dinner menus. Among the most popular orders are ceviche, or marinated fish, risotto made of palm hearts and broccoli, potato, eggplant and pepperoni pies. The bistro serves Italian-style coffee, beer, drinks, and natural fruit juices. The menu is renewed every four months and the prices are very reasonable.

The facilities also serve for photographic exhibitions, live music – usually on Saturdays – and cinema sessions on Thursdays, with free popcorn!
